Frequent fliers know how important keeping track of air miles is. Ten years ago, a number of airlines around the world changed their policies and extended the deadline on air mile expiration to ten years. Now, as those first ten-year air miles start to expire, it’s more important than ever that regular travelers find a way to save up those all-important miles.

Standard Chartered Bank Korea’s Plus Mile Card, launched on March 29 this year, is a great way for regular fliers to collect air miles every day. The card is available in either a Korean Air or Asiana Airlines version, and miles from other affiliated international airlines can also be collected.

The Korean Air version is available as either a Visa or Union Pay card. Miles are accumulated at different speeds depending on how much users spend per month. Users spending under 500,000 won ($464.29) a month will get 1 mile for every 1,000 won, while users spending over 500,000 won but under 2 million won will get 2 miles for every 1,000 won spent. People spending more than 2 million won a month will get 3 miles for every 1,000 won they spend.

The Asiana card is available as either a MasterCard or Union Pay card. Users spending under 500,000 won a month will get 1.3 miles for every 1,000 won, while users spending over 500,000 won but under 2 million won will get 2.5 miles for every 1,000 won spent. People spending more than 2 million won a month will get 3.5 miles for every 1,000 won they spend.

In addition, it is also possible to get a 70 percent discount on fees when exchanging foreign currencies including U.S. dollars, Japanese yen, euros and the Chinese renminbi. The card also allows users access to airport lounges at Incheon International Airport, Gimpo International Airport and Gimhae International Airport for free up to three times a year. This must-have feature for regular travelers is also available at 850 airport lounges around the world via the Lounge-Key service.

A coupon for a Starbucks coffee will be given to new cardholders who spend 30,000 won with their Plus Mile Card by the end of July.
