Japan’s restrictions on exports to Korea will be implemented from Aug. 28, three weeks after the government of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe gazetted a revised decree on export and trade to remove Korea from a so-called white list of countries eligible for preferential treatment. From Aug. 28, more than 1,100 items — including parts for cars and ships — must have individual permission before being exported to Korea.
