Anchor and lawmaker call it quits

Apr 25,2018
Broadcaster Kim Kyung-ran and former lawmaker Kim Sang-min have divorced after three years of marriage, according to local media outlet Sports Chosun on Tuesday.

A source from Kim Kyung-ran’s agency Line Entertainment told Sports Chosun that the couple mutually agreed to divorce at the beginning of the year. They said that the reason behind their divorce was “personality differences.”

Regarding Kim Kyung-ran’s career plans, they said, “She will continue to be as active in broadcasting as before.”

The two got married in 2015 and received attention for donating all the money they received for their wedding to children in South Sudan.

Kim Kyung-ran began as an anchor at broadcaster KBS in 2001. Kim Sang-min was voted a proportional representative of the Saenuri Party in the 2012 general election, but later lost the 2016 general election and joined the Bareunmirae Party.
