Printed history - To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Museum of Ancient Asian Woodblock Prints at Myeongju Temple in Gangwon, the museum kicked off a special exhibition that showcases around 6,000 historical woodblock prints that the temple has been collecting for the past 23 years. The collection includes woodblock prints depicting Korean independence activist An Jung-geun’s assassination of Ito Hirobumi, above, as well as a woodblock of a Korean flag, right, which was used to print flags during the Donghak Peasant Revolution (1894-95).
