Westlife releases ‘Hello My Love’ EP

Jan 11,2019
Irish boy band Westlife released their new EP entitled “Hello My Love” on Thursday.

According to their label, Universal Music Group, pop star Ed Sheeran participated in composing and producing the EP, “giving it a distinctive soft and warm atmosphere”.

“Hello My Love” is “an ‘upbeat’ song - around 128 bpm - and as far as we know there are no similarities with Westlife’s previous similarly-titled release ‘My Love,’” said member Markus Feehily in an interview posted on the group’s official website.

Shane Filan added that “We need to be a Westlife 2.0, a better version of ourselves. We wanted to come back and recreate Westlife’s sound.”

Westlife was popular in the early 2000s, including in Korea. They sold 55 million albums and made the Guinness Book of Records for “most singles to debut at number one on the UK chart.”

However, they disbanded after a farewell concert in 2012. The group reunited last year for their 20-year anniversary.

Westlife will perform their new song for the first time on The Graham Norton Show today.
