Feb 07,2019
Singer-turned-actor Lee Ho-won, a former member of boy band Infinite who goes by the stage name Hoya, will begin his mandatory military duties today.
Hoya uploaded a handwritten letter on his official fan page Tuesday, announcing the enlistment to his fans.
“I am being enlisted in the military after the [Lunar New Year] holiday,” he wrote in the letter. “It’s a mandatory duty that I must fulfill as a citizen, and I will be a more mature person than before. I will come back soon as a better person.”
Hoya, who debuted as a member of Infinite in 2010, left the group in 2017 to pursue a career in acting, appearing in various series, including tvN’s “Reply 1997” (2012) and MBC’s “Two Caps” (2017-18). He also released several solo albums, including “Baby U” from last year.
