Chung Jae-suk, chief of the Cultural Heritage Administration, center, Gyeonggi Gov. Lee Jae-myung, left, and Gangwon Gov. Choi Moon-soon, right, hold hands for a photo after signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Thursday at the Korea House in central Seoul. The MOU binds them to collaborate in making efforts to register Korea’s Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on Unesco’s World Heritage list with North Korea. The DMZ stretches across the peninsula touching Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces. It is also a home to numerous cultural heritages. Late last year, traditional Korean wrestling, known as ssireum, became the first Unesco cultural heritage jointly registered by South and North Korea. [CULTURAL HERITAGE ADMINISTRATION]
