Victim in nut-rage incident files suit against Korean Air

Nov 21,2017

Park Chang-jin, the senior flight attendant ejected by former Korean Air Vice President Cho Hyun-ah following an altercation in 2014 over the way her macadamia nuts were served, filed a lawsuit against Korea’s largest air carrier at the Seoul Western District Court.

Park opened a press briefing Monday in Seocho District, southern Seoul, claiming he had been unfairly penalized after he returned to work in May last year.

He had gone on periodic leave for industrial accident compensation. According to Park, his position at work was downgraded from team leader status to general cabin crew after questions were raised about his English proficiency.

He said his A-grade proficiency attained in 2010 was valid until September this year but the company downgraded him to B-grade after a random re-evaluation.

Korean Air rebutted Park’s claims, saying that he maintains his position as a senior flight attendant.
