EU firms view Korean market as attractive but difficult

Jan 31,2018
European companies operating in Korea view it as an attractive market but think the country is not always an easy place to do business, results from a poll conducted by the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea showed Tuesday.

According to the annual survey of 108 companies - which represent a combined work force exceeding 30,000 and a total turnover of 28 billion euros ($34 billion) - Korea is and will continue to be important economically, though some areas need to be improved to build a better business environment.

About 44 percent of companies said the Korean market is strategically important, but 61 percent said they feel that doing business in Korea has become more challenging compared to two years ago. Yonhap
