Jeju Air deploys 34th plane to expand overseas service

May 08,2018
Korea’s top budget air carrier Jeju Air said Monday it has deployed its 34th airplane for service as part of efforts to expand international routes.

The new B737-800 will become the third airplane to be newly adopted by the carrier this year. All of Jeju Air’s airplanes are B737-800 for more efficient operation and maintenance.

The Korean company plans to expand the number of its airplanes to 39 by the end of this year as it aims to increase the number of international flights.

Jeju Air recently opened new routes to Osaka, Japan; Da Nang, Vietnam; and Bangkok, Thailand, departing from Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province.

It also plans to expand the number of flights to popular destinations such as Guam.
