Aug 24,2019
Korean Air cabin crew saved the life of a choking Japanese girl on board a flight from Gimpo International Airport to Osaka on Aug. 18, the airline said Friday.

The 12-year-old girl started choking after something, later found to be her own tooth, blocked her airway.

The child could not breathe and lost consciousness for roughly five minutes, but started breathing again after emergency treatment from airline staff.

The girl started choking at 5:50 p.m., when the plane was about to land at Osaka airport, but was able to walk off the plane on her own 30 minutes later after the plane landed at 6:23 p.m., according to Korean Air. The girl was advised to go to a hospital despite her apparent recovery.
