[VIDEO NEWS] The three days of Kim Yo-jong’s first visit to South Korea

1) Who is this woman who is receiving flowers on behalf of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un?

2) She is Kim’s younger sister, estimated to be about 30 years old,

3) the granddaughter and blood relative of Kim Il-sung, the first leader of North Korea.

4) Her name is Kim Yo-jong, and she is also the first vice director of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party.

5) On Feb. 9th, the opening day of the PyeongChang Olympics, she landed at Incheon International Airport on a private jet.

6) She and the rest of the North Korean delegation went to a VIP reception soon after landing.

7) 90-year-old Kim Yong-nam, the president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, walked in first.

8) Kim Yong-nam receives the highest ranking formalities in North Korea,

9) and is the head of state according to the North Korean constitution.

11) he was seen hesitating when offered a seat.

12) He seemed to be waiting for someone.

13) Kim Yo-jong walked in soon after.

14) South Korean officials had offered the most important seat to Kim Yong-nam,

15) but he yielded it to Kim Yo-jong instead of sitting down.

17) This incident clearly shows Kim Yo-jong’s rank within North Korea.

18) On Saturday, their second day in South Korea, Kim Yo-jong and the high-level delegation visited the Blue House.

19) Kim met President Moon Jae-in as a special envoy.

20) She took a picture commemorating the visit with Moon,

21) then arrived at the reception room.

22) She was holding a document in her hands.

23) The words ‘Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea’ were written on the file.

24) This blue document was a personally written letter from Kim Jong-un.

25) Along with the letter, Kim Yo-jong delivered a verbal invitation saying that Kim Jong-un was willing to meet Moon in the near future.

26) Kim Yo-jong also left a message in the Blue House’s guest book:

27) “I hope that Pyongyang and Seoul become closer in the hearts of our people, and the future of unification and prosperity come closer.”

28) On Sunday, the third day,

29) a luncheon with Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon was first on Kim’s schedule.

30) Later, in the evening,

31) she watched the North Korean Samjiyon Orchestra’s show in Seoul with Moon

32) and finished her three-day-long visit.
