[VIDEO NEWS] North Korean Winter Paralympic athletes officially enter the Athletes’ Village

1) The North Korean team for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics made their official entrance to the PyeongChang Athletes’ Village in Gangwon Thursday morning.

2) “This is where people from around the world come together in harmony and enjoy the festival.” - Park Eun-soo, mayor of the PyeongChang Athletes’ Village.

3) “In the upcoming Games, I hope that you can all show your skills and sportsmanship.”

4) 20 people attended the opening ceremony including four athletes, staff members, and Chung Hyeon, who is vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Chosun Federation for Protection of Persons with Disabilities and the leader of the North Korean team.

5) Chung Hyeon and North Korean Nordic skier Kim Jong-hyon participated in a gift exchange on behalf of the team and delivered a pot shaped like a Goryeo celadon to Park.

6) Chung also wrote the phrase “Fortitude of our people” on the Paralympic Mural on behalf of the team.

7) The North Korean team was second to enter the ceremony after Uzbekistan. The team members’ expressions were bright as they waved the North Korean flag.

8) After the ceremony, the North Korean team did not have a separate photo session and immediately moved to the village next to the Olympic plaza.
