[VIDEO NEWS] South and North agree to road, rail connecting two Koreas

1) Senior officials from South and North Korea held a 56-minute meeting on Oct. 15th starting at 10:00 a.m. where the two sides discussed agreements made in the Pyongyang Declaration.

2) Officials agreed to hold a ground-breaking ceremony for rail and road projects connecting the two countries between late November and early December.

3) Other topics of discussion were opening a visitor’s office for separated families and hosting the 2032 Summer Olympics together.

4) “There is a saying that the infinite waters of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans are made by small waters from valleys.”

5) “I believe that since we met for a good reason, good atmosphere and conditions will follow.” -Ri Son-gwon, chairman of North Korea’s Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country

6) “As we have met often, we’re starting to feel like neighbors. It’s fortunate the relationship between the two Koreas is improving.” -Cho Myoung-gyon, South Korea’s unification minister

7) “I’m planning to give good news to the people watching this meeting by setting satisfactory conditions and schedules.” -Ri Son-gwon

8) After the discussion, the two countries carried out meetings between chief delegates and business representatives.
